As Masters of diamonds since 1789, Backes & Strauss the world's oldest diamond company launched an exclusive luxury watch brand.

In celebration of Sir Thomas Harriot, the British astronomer who first mapped the moon in 1609, Backes & Strauss have launched The Regent 1609AD, shown here with invisibly set baguette diamonds. Part of the dial shows the different phases of the moon in midnight blue, set with 17 ideal cut diamonds depicting the Great Bear Constellation. Crafted in 18kt white or rose gold, this is a very limited edition collection of 219 pieces in each size, 4047mm and 4452mm, with different diamond settings.

This is a minor complication watch with a "Grande Date" at 12 O'Clock, and Moon Phase mechanism at 6 O'Clock.
